Feedback on Our Meeting with the Department of Labour
Comprehensive Update and Next Steps
We are pleased to provide a detailed update regarding our recent meeting with the Department of Labour, a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to support unemployed youth and create meaningful pathways to employment. This meeting represents months of preparation, coordination, and shared vision, and we are excited to share the outcomes with all our stakeholders, partners, and community members who have supported this initiative.
Our engagement with officials from the Department of Labour was not only productive but extremely encouraging. The Department expressed strong alignment with our mission to address unemployment, particularly among young people who continue to be disproportionately affected by economic challenges. They acknowledged the importance of organisations like ours—Malusi Vacancies—in acting as a bridge between job seekers and potential employers. Their willingness to collaborate signals a meaningful opportunity for growth, impact, and long-term change.
One of the most significant outcomes of the meeting is the agreement that our partnership with the Department will formally begin in January 2026. Starting from that date, Malusi Vacancies will officially begin submitting CVs of unemployed youth directly to the Department of Labour for various employment and skills development opportunities. These opportunities may include internships, learnerships, entry-level positions, training programmes, and other forms of employment assistance made available through the Department and its partner organisations.
This collaboration is more than a procedural agreement; it is a step toward creating a more connected and efficient system for supporting young job seekers. With rising unemployment rates and increasing competition for limited job opportunities, this partnership offers a direct and structured channel to help young people gain access to essential job placement services. The Department recognises the role we play in identifying, preparing, and recommending suitable candidates, and we are committed to ensuring that our submissions meet the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
As we prepare for the January rollout, we want to emphasise the importance of ensuring that all eligible youth submit their CVs to us as soon as possible. If you have not yet submitted your CV, we strongly encourage you to do so without delay. Submitting early allows us to review, organise, and prepare your information ahead of the formal submission process. This ensures that your details are included in the first round of referrals to the Department of Labour.
Please send your updated CV to our official email address:

When submitting your CV, we advise all applicants to ensure that their documents are clear, professional, and up to date. A strong CV significantly increases your chances of being selected for opportunities. Make sure to include your latest contact information, educational history, skills, work experience (if any), and any certificates or achievements that showcase your capabilities. If you require assistance in preparing or improving your CV, our team is available to offer guidance and support.
The meeting with the Department also gave us the opportunity to discuss additional areas of collaboration beyond CV submissions. While final details will be communicated in due course, the Department showed interest in exploring joint workshops, training sessions, and career development programmes that could be rolled out to youth in different communities. These initiatives would offer valuable skills such as interview preparation, workplace communication, digital literacy, and industry-specific training. By equipping job seekers with both knowledge and confidence, we aim to increase their ability to succeed in the job market.
We also took time during the meeting to highlight some of the challenges facing young job seekers today—ranging from lack of access to information and transport barriers to limited exposure to formal employment environments. The Department acknowledged these realities and reaffirmed their commitment to creating more inclusive, accessible, and youth-friendly employment programmes. Their willingness to listen and respond demonstrates a partnership grounded in empathy, understanding, and shared responsibility.
As an organisation, we remain committed to transparency, accountability, and the highest level of service. We will continue to communicate regularly with all participants as new developments arise. Beginning in January 2026, we will provide monthly updates on the progress of CV submissions, the number of youth assisted, and any upcoming opportunities that become available through the Department of Labour.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this meeting a success. To our staff, volunteers, community partners, and especially the unemployed youth who trust us with their aspirations, we thank you. This collaboration is a collective achievement, and it represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
In closing, we encourage all individuals who meet the criteria and are seeking employment opportunities to submit their CVs without delay. This partnership with the Department of Labour has the potential to open doors for countless young people, but participation starts with taking the first step—sending in your CV.
Once again, please submit your CVs to:
